The whoosh of water, loud, and strong
Appears on this planet, right, or wrong.
It pours down from the heavens, in the form of rain,
Later to wash, or even gush down the drain.
It melts down from snow, morphing into fluidity,
Then evaporates off,
Increasing the humidity.
Water gives life, but it takes it away too
Especially when we humans waste it all – flushing it down the loo.
Water must be protected, for if not,
Our fates are all collected.
We must do something to help,
We cannot just sit idly and yelp.
Water must be saved, starting today,
If not, our planet will be in disarray.

Literary Intent
In my poem “Water” I try to convey a message to save it, whist at the same time, rhyming the words, to make the poem more catchy. The beginning of it is more observational, but it gradually gets more and more urgent. I end the poem with a single word, to increase the sense of foreboding, and doom, that our planet faces.
